JAMB RESULT UPDATE

We are ready and well organized to start releasing the jamb results of merited candidates.
We had scrutinized and carefully watched the conduction of this year’s exam.
We have found a lot of impersonating materials.

Jamb result checker
About 100,000 candidates came inside hall with scientific calculators, while 500,000 candidates came inside hall with mobile phones.
I am sure that candidates didn’t know that CCTV cameras were mounted inside the exam hall where they can’t imagine.
As of last year conduction, we mounted the CCTV cameras where someone can easy detect it.
So they now used a smart style in cheating inside exam hall.
We also discovered that 300,000 did system malpractices thereby inviting external bodies or machineries to write exam for them.
We detected that when we are checking the candidate’s thumbprint and pictures in the system.
We can boast of 1.2 million candidate’s results out of 1.9 million candidates that registered exam this year ( 2019 ). 600,000 candidates scored above 200 , 300,000 candidates scored above 180 and lastly 300,000 candidates scored below 180.
Those results are already available, we are now maintaining the online result checker portal . In no distant time, candidates will be able to access their results.
Jamb went further to say the condition of those that has fallen victim of the exam.
As for those that are caught in exam malpractice, we are going to have a brief meeting on that, while those cut with scientific calculators, their exams will be rescheduled or deduction of their scores.
Candidates will be updated when the portal is fixed.
They urge the candidates to print their original Jamb result ( coloured ) and online result ( either coloured or black and white ).
Candidates should not forget to upload their o’level results immediately they access their results.

JAMB FIXES 11th APRIL FOR UTME EXAM, POSPONES MOCK.

JAMB has finally fixed 11th April, 2019 as the new official date to commence with the UTME for this year. They have also postponed the Mock Exam to be held on Monday, 1st April. It is also important to note that the 2019 Registration Portal has now been re-opened till 15th March, 2019 (by midnight), for candidates, who have already created their profiles and purchased the UTME or DE ePINS. Continue reading to see Exam Slip reprinting dates;

Candidates are to begin reprinting their Official Exam Slips as from 2nd April to see their Exam details such as approved Venues and Time Schedule for their CBT Exam. Meanwhile, those who are qualified to write the Mock Exam on the new date of 1st April do not need to reprint the reprinted exam slips, as all the details on the slips remain the same except the (mock) examination date which is now April 1.

JAMB CLOSES SALES OF UTME REGISTRATION FORM

JAMB Closes Sales Of UTME Registration Forms
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has closed the sale of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination forms.
The board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the sales of the forms, ended on Thursday.
Benjamin, however, said that online registration was still ongoing.
Benjamin said, “This is because some people earlier bought e-pins for the exams but were unable to register before now, so we are monitoring them online and would avail them the opportunity to register.
”Therefore, we cannot give the exact figure of the registered candidates for now until this is over. ”
He added that the registration would continue until the board decided.
NAN reports that the board had commenced the sale and online registration of 2019 to 2020 UTME forms on January 10 and was scheduled to end on Feb. 21.
On the issue of rescheduled dates for both the mock and main examinations, Benjamin said that the board was yet to decide on a new date but would give updates as soon as possible.
NAN reports that the board considered rescheduling the initial dates for the examination because of the shift of dates for the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Speaking also on the suspension of 17 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres across the country, Benjamin said that the suspension would not, in any way, affect the process of the examinations as the board had over 700 accredited centres nationwide.

JAMB 2019

This is the final reminder for all those interested in taking the 2019 UTME.

The JAMB 2019 Registration will officially close tomorrow, 21st February.

JAMB has insisted that there will be no extension of this deadline for registration. Please do well to register today or tomorrow.

Once registration closes, the next thing to start looking up for is when JAMB intends to conduct the Mock Exam, which was originally set to commence on Saturday, 23rd February.

With the Presidential Election now fixed for that date, we await a new announcement from JAMB on when the Mock will now hold.

PRINTING OF 2019 UTME EXAM SLIP

JAMB has disclosed that the printing of 2019 JAMB Exam Slip would commence March 2nd, 2019; that is two weeks before the examination.

The reprinted slips will bear candidates schedule for the examination: date, time and centre as well as other necessary information about the examination.

Please be informed that the closing date for JAMB 2019 UTME Registration Still remains 21st February. Ensure to register before then, if you have not already done so, as there will be no extension of this deadline.

How ready are you for the exam?

Wish You Best Of Luck

JAMB MOCK EXAMS

The 2019 JAMB mock examination earlier scheduled to hold on February 23rd, 2019
will obviously no longer hold as scheduled majorly due to the fact that the Presidential general election has been moved to that date.
As you may have known, there will be no free movement on that day which is the reason JAMB will not carry on with the mock exam on that date.
At this time, JAMB is yet to make an official statement on the postponement and give a new date for the 2019 mock exam.
However, we believe before the end of this week, JAMB will do so.
The main exam comes up March 16th – 23rd, 2019. How ready are you? Don’t forget that adequate and smart preparation is the keys to exam success.
Meanwhile, the deadline for the 2019 UTME registration remains February 21st, 2019. Interested candidates that are yet to register are advised to ensure they do so on or before the stated deadline as JAMB has already said that there will be no shift in the deadline.

JAMB SWEET SIXTEEN

JAMB Question:

Correct Author’s Name for Sweet Sixteen; Abdullai or Abdullahi

There have been controversies over the correct name of the Author for the Official JAMB Novel for the coming UTME; “SWEET SIXTEEN”.

Since the Novel was confirmed by JAMB at the beginning of registration, various versions of the Author’s Name have popped up; So can we spell it as “Abdullai” or “Abdullahi”, if it comes out in the exam? The difference in name is the letter “H”. We want to put an end to this confusion right now.

First of all, it’s important to note that the version released by JAMB to test candidates in the coming UTME is a slimmer or summary version of the original version composed by the Author. The original version has 157 pages, while the version released by JAMB has only 53 pages. The confusion stems from the fact that there are two versions of the book with one bearing “Bolaji Abdullai” and the other bearing Bolaji “Abdullahi”.

In the original version, the Author’s name is written as “Bolaji Abdullai”, while the version by JAMB is written as “Bolaji Abdullahi”.

Although they sound similar, the difference is the letter “H” in the JAMB Version.

Since FIRSTFEB COMPUTER does not believe the Author would make a mistake in his own name stated in the original version, it is safe to say that JAMB made a mistake in the Author’s name. Oh yes, JAMB makes mistakes too.

Based on these findings, we hope JAMB does not test candidates to state the name of the Author in the coming exams. Even if they do, we hope they don’t bring out the two varying names as options, rather we expect them to place other Authors in the options.

Be that as it may, if you’re confronted with a question where the two varying names are placed as options for you to select the Author’s Name, please select the name that appears on the JAMB Version of the Novel, which is Sweet Sixteen by Bolaji Abdullahi.

So you now know what option to pick if you see the question; “Who is the Author of the book, Sweet sixteen?”.

2018 NECO RESULT

NECO Releases Nov/Dec 2018 Examination Results

The National Examinations Council has released the result of the 2018 November/December Senior School Certificate Examination for external candidates.

The Acting Registrar, NECO, Mr. Abubakar Gana, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Friday.

According to Gana, 59,963 candidates registered for the examination and were examined in about 28 subject areas.

He noted that a total of 37,069 candidates representing 62.48 per cent got five credits and above, including English and Mathematics; while 47,031 candidates, representing 79.27 per cent got five credits and above, irrespective of English and Mathematics.

While giving further breakdown of the performance of candidates, he said that 57,842 sat for English Language out of which 44,497, representing 76.93 got either distinction or credit.

He added that 57,275 sat for Mathematics, out of which 47,151 representing 82.32 per cent got either distinction or credit.

“A comparative analysis of candidates, who scored five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics for 2017 and 2018 shows 56.79 per cent for 2017 and 62.48 per cent for 2018.

“This represents an increase of 5.69 per cent,” he said.

On irregularities during the exercise, Gana said that there was an upward trend in candidates’ involvement in examinations malpractice, compared to 2017.

According to him, a total of 12,084 candidates were caught cheating, as against 4,425 in 2017.

He said the increase in cases of exam malpractice reflects the desperation by candidates seeking to cut corners and the determination of the council to apprehend culprits in line with its zero tolerance for examination malpractice.

He noted that candidates cheated more in Mathematics, English language, Biology and Economics subject areas because those subjects seem to pose problems for candidates.

Gana, however, enjoined candidates to note that result checker cards would no longer be used to check results.

He urged all the candidates that participated in the examination to log on to the council’s website-www.neco.gov.ng and click on NECO results to purchase a token that could be used to access their results.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the November/December SSCE is usually conducted for external candidates unlike the June/July SSCE, which is mainly conducted for school based candidates.

NANS HAILS FG ON REDUCTION OF NECO, JAMB FORM FEES

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Thursday applauded the Federal Government for reducing the cost of JAMB and UTME form fees for final year secondary school and post-secondary school examinations.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Federal Government, after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, announced the reduction in JAMB form fees from N5, 000 to N3, 500 for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).ADVERTISEMENT

The Senior Secondary Certificate charged by National Examination Council (NECO) has been reduced from 11,350 to N9, 850 and Basic Education Certificate handled by NECO, N5, 500 to N4, 000.

The reductions take effect from January, 2019.ADVERTISEMENT

“NANS considers this decision as a good and progressive minded one,’’ NANS National Public Relations Officer, Mr Bestman Okereafor, said in a statement issued in Enugu on Thursday.

Okereafor, however, urged the Federal Government to prioritise the issue of education and especially the ongoing ASUU/COEASU strike.

According to him, the strike has truncated the chances of “some of our compatriots graduating in 2018, simply because the academic calendar has been altered. “

“NANS considers this decision as a good and progressive minded one, but strongly believes that resolving the ongoing ASUU/COEASU strikes would be better.

“We are of the opinion that schools must be made conducive for all students on campuses as it was in the days of old.
The association noted that many students were admitted without assurance of smooth sail throughout the expected period of study, “as we now have students spending six years for a four- year course. “

“The Presidency must consider making our campuses a conducive atmosphere for learning and research purposes.

“It is highly disheartening that we have lost quite a handful of young, hardworking and promising Nigerian students to the cold hands of death due to the ongoing strike.

“Even as some of our students are now been exposed to various crimes, and drugs. For an idle hand they say is the devil’s workshop.’’

Okereafor, however, appealed to the leadership of ASUU not to frustrate the process of negotiation with the Federal Government, rather consider suspending the strike in the best interest of all.

According to it, the ongoing strike has done more harm than good to students.

Move your cursor around and you’ll notice the different blocks light up with outlines and arrows. Press the arrows to reposition blocks quickly, without fearing about losing things in the process of copying and pasting.

What you are reading now is a text block the most basic block of all. The text block has its own controls to be moved freely around the post…

… like this one, which is right aligned.

Headings are separate blocks as well, which helps with the outline and organization of your content.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Handling images and media with the utmost care is a primary focus of the new editor. Hopefully, you’ll find aspects of adding captions or going full-width with your pictures much easier and robust than before.

Beautiful landscape
If your theme supports it, you’ll see the “wide” button on the image toolbar. Give it a try.

Try selecting and removing or editing the caption, now you don’t have to be careful about selecting the image or other text by mistake and ruining the presentation.

The Inserter Tool

Imagine everything that WordPress can do is available to you quickly and in the same place on the interface. No need to figure out HTML tags, classes, or remember complicated shortcode syntax. That’s the spirit behind the inserter—the (+) button you’ll see around the editor—which allows you to browse all available content blocks and add them into your post. Plugins and themes are able to register their own, opening up all sort of possibilities for rich editing and publishing.

Go give it a try, you may discover things WordPress can already add into your posts that you didn’t know about. Here’s a short list of what you can currently find there:

  • Text & Headings
  • Images & Videos
  • Galleries
  • Embeds, like YouTube, Tweets, or other WordPress posts.
  • Layout blocks, like Buttons, Hero Images, Separators, etc.
  • And Lists like this one of course 🙂

Visual Editing

A huge benefit of blocks is that you can edit them in place and manipulate your content directly. Instead of having fields for editing things like the source of a quote, or the text of a button, you can directly change the content. Try editing the following quote:

The editor will endeavor to create a new page and post building experience that makes writing rich posts effortless, and has “blocks” to make it easy what today might take shortcodes, custom HTML, or “mystery meat” embed discovery.

Matt Mullenweg, 2017

The information corresponding to the source of the quote is a separate text field, similar to captions under images, so the structure of the quote is protected even if you select, modify, or remove the source. It’s always easy to add it back.

Blocks can be anything you need. For instance, you may want to add a subdued quote as part of the composition of your text, or you may prefer to display a giant stylized one. All of these options are available in the inserter.

You can change the amount of columns in your galleries by dragging a slider in the block inspector in the sidebar.

Media Rich

If you combine the new wide and full-wide alignments with galleries, you can create a very media rich layout, very quickly:

Accessibility is important — don’t forget image alt attribute

Sure, the full-wide image can be pretty big. But sometimes the image is worth it.

The above is a gallery with just two images. It’s an easier way to create visually appealing layouts, without having to deal with floats. You can also easily convert the gallery back to individual images again, by using the block switcher.

Any block can opt into these alignments. The embed block has them also, and is responsive out of the box:

You can build any block you like, static or dynamic, decorative or plain. Here’s a pullquote block:

Code is Poetry
